Puerto Plata. cableway

The Puerto Plata cableway connects the city of Puerto Plata to the top of Mount Isabel de Torres (800 meters or 2625 feet above sea level) , build in 1974 it is the only cableway of the whole Caribeans.
It is open from Monday to Sunday from 8:30 to 17:00 and it is really a worth doing experience for residents and tourists, the view of the whole Puerto Plata province from the top of the mountain is amazing, you can easily view the coast from Amber Cove to Sosua. The cost is 10 US$ for adults and 5 US$ for children between 5 and 10 (ticket prices for residents are lower: 250 DOP for adults and 150 DOP for children). The park on top of the mountain is nice to visit with a wide variety of tropical trees and birds.

One year ago hurricane Irma stroke Sosua

One year ago hurricane Irma stroke Sosua : a lot of fear but thanks God only minor damages.
We are now in the peak of the hurricane season in the Carribean and so far so good, Playa Sosua looks quite these days and it gets packed during week-ends.

Friday September 7, 2018: no hurricanes in sight so far
